I have a diverse background encompassing many areas of health, medicine, and fitness. My skillset allows me to produce and contribute in a number of areas including teaching, research, writing, consulting, and clinical work.

 

Here is a summary of my skills in each of the previously mentioned areas.

 

TEACHING

  • Competent in teaching public health, health education, school health, athletic training, general health and wellness, physical activity courses, and physician assistant studies. 

  • Skilled at teaching diverse audiences and levels (undergraduate, graduate, doctoral).

  • Held leadership roles serving as athletic training program director, clinical education coordinator, and school health program coordinator.

  • Proficient developing and teaching courses in a variety of formats such as traditional class settings, web hybrids, 100% online, and focused intensive courses.

  • I am familiar with multiple teaching platforms including Blackboard and Moodle. 
     

RESEARCH

  • Comfortable with both qualitative and quantitative methods.

  • Proficient in SPSS and knowledgable in ATLAS.ti and NVIVO software.

  • Skilled in survey development (item development, item analysis, psychometrics, EFA, and CFA).
     

WRITING

  • Proficient in publishing numerous peer-reviewed articles.

  • Knowledgable of the book development process and publishing.

  • Able to write in various styles including, technical reports, case studies, prose, journal-style articles.

  • Skilled at developing grants and funding opportunities for research. 
     

CONSULTING

  • Knowledgable in website development/production.

  • Able to act as a guide/mentor through the editing process for professional papers, theses, dissertations, etc.

  • Skilled at creating personalized fitness programs (for various goals).

  • Able to assist in developing curricula, conduct program reviews, and health programming.
     

CLINICAL

  • Certified and licensed in athletic training (ATC). Licensed in Commonwealth of Massachusetts #01371.

  • Certified in strength and conditioning (CSCS).

  • Certified in health education (CHES) #14984. 

  • Certified in CPR/AED and First Aid.

  • Skilled in therapeutic exercise, modalities, and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries.

  • Proficient in prevention, risk-reduction, and risk-management.
